What Is Closer To The Truth.

So I've done it.  I weight the same amount as I did when I went in for my first Doctor's appointment with Bradley.  It's been along time coming and it hasn't been easy.  But I'm feel so good about where my body is going.  I think that eating less and becoming active as least one night a week has really helped me get to where I want to be. It's a freeing feeling to see your clothes fit you better and to even have to go out and buy new clothes. Don't get me wrong I still want more.  I want to be fit, I want to be able to run for forever if I want. I want to be active and live a long time so I can enjoy Bradley.  And hopefully along the way I can be a good example to Bradley and inspire him to be active too. :)  We will see...

We Took 2nd Place... NBD. :)

So this past weekend I played a 3v3 tournament in Greeley Colorado. For those of you who don't play soccer or are not familiar with 3v3 I'll explain.  It's a soccer game that is played with two teams of three. Each half is 12 minutes long and there are no goal keepers.  It's different from regular soccer because the pace of the game is faster. You have to be able to switch from offense to defense really quickly.  Everything in 3v3 is quicker.  Also the game is best played with your team in a triangle, this way you do more passing than running. That might have been the world worst explanation on 3v3 but it pretty much sums it up.

Anyway, I haven't played soccer out side on grass in close to 10 years and I am still recovering from when I tore my ACL 2 years ago.  Needless to say it was not a pretty sight, well for me any way.  My team was really good for never having played together. For the most part my team was in shape, except for me and we did a good job.  I scored one point, so I was really proud of my self. Out of the 6 games we played over 2 day we only lost one game.  Not bad for a bunch of old farts. :) We took second in the Co-Ed League that we were in. And not to mention, all the men that were on my Co-Ed team also played in the men's league.  They played a total of 13 games in 2 day.  Amazing athletes to say the least.

It felt really good to be out there.  It's really weird but I feel at home on a soccer field.  I've spent most of my life on a soccer field.  All of my brothers and sisters played growing up, so when I wasn't playing my self I was watching at least one of my siblings play. I used to know what to do and play very well because it was all i ever knew.  I'm glad I'm getting back to doing something that I loved so much.  I've been searching for "home" as of lately and I think I might have found my temporary address. :)  I'm not the soccer player that I used to be but I'm trying to find my place back in the sport I loved so much as a kid.
